Course we cannot let this opportunity go by without mentioning one more time that Yale and the Peabody museum still have not returned the artifacts taken from Macchu Picchu that they promised to return 100 years ago!

Bringing out the Fakes

Museums are giant sized representatives in the world of collecting objects and art but being big only means loosing big. As a collector of art objects for more than 30 years it is a sad reality that every once in a while we all collect the odd fake.

Maybe the price was right to take a chance or maybe the beauty of the object becomes motive however we acquire these pieces there comes a time for the fake to be removed from our collections in the effort to improve the collection.

These types of shows are excellent opportunities for displaying and teaching the rest of us what to look for in a fake.

BRAVO!
